What's That Vape Tank's Smell
Have you ever gone to take a hit off of your mod, only to find that there’s a ghastly odor waiting for you? It’s not that uncommon for a vape tank to develop an odor, especially if you’re not on top of general vaping maintenance. While odors can be quite off-putting, that doesn’t mean that you have to throw out your tank to get a new one. Usually, there’s a very simple explanation behind that smell and an even easier solution.
Your Coil Needs to be Changed
One of the reasons why your tank might smell bad is because your coil just needs to be switched out. As the fibers in the coil start to wear down and lose their absorbency, they can begin burning your e-liquid, causing a bad odor. Luckily, this is an incredibly easy fix as all that you have to do is put a new coil into your tank.
You’re Vaping Cheap E-Liquid
There’s a chance that the smell is coming from your vape juice. If you recently purchased a low-quality juice in an effort to save some cash, you might be just now discovering what a mistake you made. E-liquids that are made with cheap ingredients are known to produce odors that linger in the tank long after you’ve finished the bottle. So, stop buying low-quality liquids and give your tank a good wash.
Your Mouthpiece Needs a Washing
How often do you put your drip tip or mouthpiece into your mouth? Think for a second about the fact that your mouth is full of millions of germs. Now, consider how clean that mouthpiece might be after it’s spent all of that time between your lips. If you don’t clean your mouthpiece frequently enough, it will start to develop odors.
You Haven’t Cleaned Your Tank in a While
The most common culprit is not washing your tank frequently enough. Your tank needs to be thoroughly cleaned at least once each week. Otherwise, it’s almost definitely going to develop some bad odors over time. Your tank is inevitably going to get coated in a layer of gunk from the sugar that’s in your e-liquid. As that gunk continues to burn because of the heat of your coil, your tank will only smell worse and worse.
You’re Vaping at the Wrong Wattage Level
Vaping at the wrong wattage level could also explain an unwanted smell coming from your tank. If you’re vaping at a wattage that’s too high for your coil, your coil is going to burn. This will result in a burnt smell that’s anything but pleasant as you take a hit off of your mod.
How to Clean Your Vape Tank
The best thing to do when you sense a bad odor coming from your tank is to clean it. Cleaning your tank doesn’t take a lot of time or effort. All that you have to do is take each component apart before soaking it for about thirty minutes in a solution of water and either rubbing alcohol or vodka. Once each piece is done soaking, take a cotton swab and remove any remaining debris.
No More Bad Smell
The best way to deal with an odorous tank is to give it a good washing. Regardless of the reason behind that bad smell, it’s unlikely that you’re going to have to dish out money to buy a new tank.
