Replacing a Vape Coil When Need Be

Replacing a Vape Coil When Need Be

There are multiple things to keep in mind when purchasing a decent e-cigarette or MOD, but most of it includes keeping it in good shape.

One of the most important attachments that needs replacing every so often, is your coil. Depending on how often you vape, your coil needs to be changed regardless of your usage. For the average vaper with an average to decently made device, it is recommended to change your coil every 7-10 days. You'll get a different answer from everyone on that it seems. It also depends on the vape itself. Some devices can last up to 4 weeks with extremely minimal usage. Some may only last for a few days, especially if you "chain vape." Chain vaping will quickly burn out the coil, because coils were not made to be burning all day long. If you chain vape, you absolutely need to have replacements.

Why is it important to change your coil?

    - The wick on the coil will eventually burn out, thus making your vape juice taste burnt.

    - The vapor will start to taste dry and hot, which is a good indicator that you should change your coil.

    - If you don't replace the coil, you run a high risk of vape juice leaking down into your battery, thus damaging it beyond repair. Coils are less expensive than the vape itself.

    - It's basic routine maintenance. No coils last forever, and they certainly aren't meant to do so. By changing the coil when it is needed, you're taking good care of your vape. Anyone who vapes regularly knows it's mandatory to change the coil every so often. So, it's always best to have backups available.

What are some of the ways to keep your coil in good shape?

    - Prime your coil with e-juice beforehand. Not priming it prior to changing it will definitely burn out the coil a thousand times faster.

    - Keep your tank full and don't let your e-juice run super low. Fill it up before you use it. This will cover your coil, which prevents it from burning out quickly.

Although, not changing your coil isn't life threatening, As long as you aren't constantly dry hitting it, it won't hurt you physically, but it won't be too tasty. There has been theories that a burnt coil can produce harmful chemicals, nothing has been proven otherwise. The reason why coils get burnt, is because of the electrical current running through it. Think about it. If a light stays on in a room for a long period of time, does the light bulb not get hot? Light bulbs burn out. Coils burn out. Granted, you can't turn the light on if the bulb is completely burnt out, but it is a very similar concept. If you're constantly hitting a burnt coil, it will eventually stop working altogether, just like a burnt out light bulb.

If you want your vape to be good to you, then you need to be good you your vape and keep it in decent condition. Otherwise, you'll be wasting money on several vapes in the future, which are way more expensive than backup coils.

Proper Temp Control When Vaping with a MOD is Crucial

Proper Temp Control When Vaping with a MOD is Crucial

To anyone who has ever experienced the dreaded dry hit, temperature control is a godsend. This relatively new feature ensures that you'll never get a dry hit and a harsh burnt taste by automatically lowering the voltage of your MOD when it detects that your wick is dry.

Despite the convenience of this new feature, it's still important to know how to set your temperature control properly. By understanding how this feature works, you’ll ensure that you have the most enjoyable and consistent vaping experience possible.

    How to Set Temperature Control

First, set your MOD to temperature control and adjust it so that it’s set for the coil that you have. Tightly screw in your new coil. If your device allows you to set the wattage while in temperature control mode, set it to 30W.

Just like with wattage, it's best to set your temperature low at first and slowly work your way up until you find a setting that is right for you. It’s recommended that you first set your temperature at 420 °F or 215 °C.

Once you've set your temperature, vape as you normally do. If you wish, you may gradually increase the temperature. Everybody's "sweet spot" is simply a subjective preference, so feel free to experiment with the temperature until you're satisfied with the hit and the flavor.

    E-Liquid Plays a Role

E-liquid flavors that’re sweet have a higher sugar content than flavors that are not. For instance, a blueberry cheesecake flavor has more sugar in it than a plain tobacco flavor. If an e-liquid has a high sugar content, it burns at a much lower temperature. Once the sugar in the liquid is burnt, it can gunk up your coil and result in an unpleasant flavor. Therefore, you should start at a low temperature and slowly work your way up to ensure that you get the most out of your e-liquid flavor.

Additionally, propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG) have different boiling points. Depending on the balance between these two ingredients in your e-juice, different temps will influence the amount of vapor that’s produced.

    The Type of Coil Matters

When you’re using temperature control, make sure that you're using the right coils. Coils that're made of nickel or titanium are ideal for this setting. This is because of the way that these metals interact with different temperatures. When the coil is heated, these materials adjust their resistance levels accordingly.

Once you understand how temperature control works, you can vape away without worrying about those awful dry hits. This exciting feature allows you to have a consistent, smooth and totally pleasurable vaping experience.
